Literacy and AAC-Our New Site!

Last year, EMSB was provided a grant from the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur to pursue a project in literacy and augmentative and alternative communication in our classrooms. This project was multidisciplinary and focused on implementation of our assistive technologies for AAC at our board. In addition, it created a focus for best practices in comprehensive literacy for our students who are emerging communicators.

Thank you to Sandra Gluth who provided our teachers and non-teaching professionals with excellent professional development, as well as Alberta teachers for their website, “Literacy Instruction for Students with Significant Disabilities” which is truly a wealth of resources.
