WordQ is a tool to support literacy. All students at EMSB have access to WordQ on their school computers, and can also have access at home.
We’ve got tons of resources for students, parents and teachers on our WordQ resource page.
To start the new school year, here are some tips for using WordQ that are not as well-known! Did you know:
You can enter words that you will use frequently in your writing into the prediction tool. This is helpful when you need to write the same “hard-to-spell” words over and over in your text! Check out this 1 minute video to see how this is done.
Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelled differently and mean different thing, such as the words, “two,” “too” and “to.” This can be confusing when writing, so WordQ gives you the word in the context of a sentence. This is helpful when you need to see and hear how the word is used. Check out this 1 minute video!
The assistive technology consultants are available for WordQ support at your school. Contact us for more information.
