Did you know that we have two new apps on EMSB iPads that can read a document out loud, with text to speech, instantaneously?
Snapverter by TextHelp and OfficeLens by Microsoft, both have features in which you can simply take a picture, then have the document read out loud to you.
With Snapverter, select the “quick capture” tool, then simply click on the area of the document that you would like read. In Office Lens, there is a feature called “immersive reader” that will read the text out loud after the photo is taken. No need to save the document to OneDrive!
For more information on using these apps in the classroom or to show your students how to use the apps, contact the assistive technology consultants.
